Psalm 167 (Lost Psalm of David)

[It is always the general rule of thumb not to solely take the author’s word throughout these studies, but to pray and seek the face of Yahuah for one’s self, and let the Spirit lead you into all truth (John 16:13-15).]

Reasoning Behind the Numerical Ordering
The numbering of these psalms of course should not be accounted as per se “official”. Following suit with the commonly known apocryphal Psalms 151-160; these psalms also plucked from the Dead Sea Scrolls, have different numbering depending on the original source you refer to (e.g. Psalms 151-155 being canonized in the Syriac, are not necessarily numbered as the same psalms when referring to the commonly accepted collective of Psalms 151-160). For the sake of simple clarity, continuing on in the Psalm 161 chronological general collective seems to be the only obvious step to move forward in, in an all-sincere attempt to rightfully divide, preserve, and freely share what is obviously Yahuah’s Inspired written Word.

Psalm 167

  1. Blessed are You, O Yahuah,
    who places understanding in the heart of Your servant,
    that he may discern all these things […];
  2. And refrain from wanton works of wickedness;
    — to persevere against the plots of wickedness —
    and bless, in righteousness, all the chosen of Your will.
  3. And that he may walk in all which You love,
    and abhor all which You hate.
  4. You shall instruct Your servant […] spirits of Man;
    for You have cast their lot according to the spirits,
    — between good and evil — to accomplish their task.
  5. And I know through the understanding
    which comes from You
    that in Your goodwill towards Man
    You have multiplied his inheritance with Your Holy Spirit.
  6. And thus You allow me to draw near to Your insight,
    and in doing so, according to my closeness.
  7. The closer I draw near,
    the more am I filled with zeal
    against all the workers of iniquity and the men of deceit.
  8. For none who approach close to You
    rebels against Your command;
    nor do any of those who know You pervert Your words.
  9. —For You are righteous, and all Your elect are truth.
  10. For You will destroy all injustice and wickedness for ever,
    and Your righteousness shall be revealed
    before the eyes of all Your creatures.
  11. I know by the abundance of Your goodness,
    and by the vow I have bound upon my soul,
    never to sin against You — nor to do any evil before Your eyes.
  12. And thus I was brought into community (or in the Yahad)
    with all the men of my council.
  13. In accordance with a man’s insight, I will advance him;
    and in accordance with the abundance of his inheritance,
    so will I love him.
  14. I will not honor an evil man,
    nor shall I acknowledge a bribe from the wicked.
  15. I will not barter Your truth for riches,
    nor one of Your precepts for bribes.
  16. But I will love each man drawn near,
    according to his speech;
    and according as You remove him far from You,
    so will I abhor him for ever.
  17. And none of those who have turned from Your covenant
    will I bring into the Council of Your truth.
