Psalm 170 (Lost Psalm of David)

[It is always the general rule of thumb not to solely take the author’s word throughout these studies, but to pray and seek the face of Yahuah for one’s self, and let the Spirit lead you into all truth (John 16:13-15).]

Reasoning Behind the Numerical Ordering
The numbering of these psalms of course should not be accounted as per se “official”. Following suit with the commonly known apocryphal Psalms 151-160; these psalms also plucked from the Dead Sea Scrolls, have different numbering depending on the original source you refer to (e.g. Psalms 151-155 being canonized in the Syriac, are not necessarily numbered as the same psalms when referring to the commonly accepted collective of Psalms 151-160). For the sake of simple clarity, continuing on in the Psalm 161 chronological general collective seems to be the only obvious step to move forward in, in an all-sincere attempt to rightfully divide, preserve, and freely share what is obviously Yahuah’s Inspired written Word.

Psalm 170

  1. Blessed are You, O Yahuah,
    Great of counsel and mighty in deeds,
    for all things are Your work!
  2. Behold, You are pleased to favour Your servant,
    and to be gracious to me by Your spirit of mercy;
    possessing the radiance of Your glory.
  3. To You! to You belongs righteousness,
    for it is You who has done all these things.
  4. I know that You have marked the spirit of the just (Righteous One)
    for my knowledge,
    therefore I have chosen to cleanse my hands
    in accordance to Your will:
  5. —For the soul of Your servant loathes every work of iniquity.
    Yet I know that man is not righteous,
    except through You.
  6. Therefore I entreat Your favor,
    by the spirit which You have given me,
    to fulfill Your mercy with Your servant for ever;
  7. To cleanse me by Your Holy Spirit,
    and to bring me near to Your will by Your grace,
    according to the abundance of Your great mercies
    that You have done with me.
  8. And to cause my steps to stand in all the rank of Your will
    that You have chosen for those who love You;
    and for those who keep Your commandments;
  9. That they may stand in Your presence for ever;
    clothed in Your favor — redeeming iniquity
    from being mingled in the spirit of Your servant.
  10. That in all Your works for ever,
    he shall do them all.
  11. Let no scourge come near him
    lest he stagger aside from the laws of Your Covenant.
  12. For […] Your face […]
  13. I know, O Yahuah,
    that You are merciful and compassionate,
    longsuffering and rich in grace and truth;
    pardoning transgression and sin.
  14. You are moved to pity on them that love You,
    and keep Your commandments;
    that return to You with faith and wholeness of heart.
  15. […] to serve You,
    and to do that which is good in Your eyes.
  16. Turn not away the face of Your servant,
    and do not reject the son of Your handmaiden […]
  17. […] and I, I draw near to Your words […]

  19. […]
  20. […] when You turn back from chaos […]
  21. […] the Congregation of the Holy Ones […],
    and all […] between good and evil […]
  22. Eternal […] the wicked ones and the good ones […],
    in them and judgement […] peace,
  23. For You are  the spring on knowledge
    and a reservoir of water […]
    and the fountain of might […]
  24. For You are great in counsel,
    and Your works are without number,
    and the zeal of Your judgement
    is before Your wisdom.
  25. You are longsuffering in Your judgements
    and righteous in all Your deeds.
  26. By Your wisdom all things exist from everlasting,
    and before creating them You knew their works
    for ever and ever.
  27. Apart from You nothing is done,
    nor is anything known unless You desire it.
  28. You have formed every spirit,
    and have established their works,
    and the judgement for all their deeds.
  29. You have spread the heavens for Your glory,
    and have appointed all their hosts
    according to Your will;
  30. And the strong spirits
    according to their ordinances.
  31. Before they became Your holy angels,
    you spread them out to be eternal spirits in their dominions:
    —luminaries according to their mysteries
    —stars according to their paths
    —stormy winds according to their tasks
    —meteors and lightning bolts according to their service
    and the perfect treasuries (of snow and hail) designed for their purposes;
    […] their secrets.
  32. You have created the earth by Your power
    and the seas and deeps by Your might.
  33. You have fashioned all their inhabitants
    according to Your wisdom,
    and have appointed all that is in them
    according to Your will.
  34. And the spirit of man
    which You have formed in the world,
    You have given dominion over the works of Your hands;
    for everlasting days and unending generations;
    to rule in all the world throughout the ages.
  35. You have allotted to them tasks
    during all their generations,
    and judgement in their appointed seasons,
    according to the rule of the two spirits.
  36. For You have established their ways
    from generation to generation,
    and have ordained from eternity
    their visitation either for reward or chastisement;
  37. You have apportioned these judgements to all their seed,
    for everlasting generations and all the years of eternity.
  38. And their works You knew,
    in the wisdom of Your knowledge;
    You did establish their destiny before ever they were.
  39. All things come to pass according to Your will,
    and nothing happens apart from You.
  40. These things I know by the wisdom which comes from You,
    for You have unstopped my ears to marvelous mysteries.
  41. And yet I, a vessel of clay
    kneaded in water,
    a foundation of shame
    and a spring of impurity;
  42. A melting pot of iniquity
    and an edifice of sin;
  43. A straying and perverted spirit
    of no understanding;
    fearful of righteous judgements.
  44. —What can I say that is not foreknown?
    And what can I utter that is not foretold?
  45. All things are graven before You
    with the ink of remembrance, for everlasting ages.
  46. For the numbered seasons of eternal years
    in all their feasts and appointed times;
    nothing is hidden nor does exist apart from Your presence.
  47. What shall a man say concerning his sin?
    And how shall he plead concerning his iniquities?
    And how shall he reply to righteous judgement?
  48. For You, O Yahuah of knowledge,
    are all righteous deeds,
    and the counsel of truth;
  49. But to the sons of Adam is the work of iniquity
    and deeds of deceit.
  50. It is You who have created breath for the tongue
    and You know its words;
  51. You did establish the fruit of the lips
    before ever they were.
  52. You do set words to a measuring-line,
    and the flow of breath from the lips is by measure.
  53. You bring forth the measuring-lines
    according to their mysteries;
    and the flow of breath from the lips
    according to its reckoning;
  54. In order to make known Your glory,
    and recount Your wonders
    in all Your works of truth,
    and in all Your righteous judgements;
  55. And that Your name be praised by the mouth of all men,
    and that they may know You according to their understanding,
    and bless You forever.
  56. And You, by Your compassion and great mercies
    have strengthened the spirit of man
    in the face of affliction;
  57. And the soul of Your servant You purified
    from the multitude of iniquity,
    to recount Your wonders in the presence of all Your creatures.
  58. I will declare to the Assembly of the Simple
    the judgements by which I was afflicted,
    and to the sons of Adam all Your wonders
    by which You have shown Yourself mighty in me,
    in the presence of the sons of Adam:
  59. Hear O you wise men who meditate on knowledge
    yet are reckless;
    O you fearful, be steadfast!:
    Be of firm inclination — increase in prudence, O all you simple!;
  60. O just men, put away injustice!
    —holdfast to the Covenant!
  61. O all you perfect of the Way,
    strengthen your loins!;
  62. O all you poor ones oppressed with misery,
    be patient, and despise no righteous judgement!
  63. The foolish of heart will not comprehend these things,
    and in the mercy of Your truth […]
    the ruthless ones gnash their teeth […]
