Psalm 185 (Lost Psalm of David)

[It is always the general rule of thumb not to solely take the author’s word throughout these studies, but to pray and seek the face of Yahuah for one’s self, and let the Spirit lead you into all truth (John 16:13-15).]

Reasoning Behind the Numerical Ordering
The numbering of these psalms of course should not be accounted as per se “official”. Following suit with the commonly known apocryphal Psalms 151-160; these psalms also plucked from the Dead Sea Scrolls, have different numbering depending on the original source you refer to (e.g. Psalms 151-155 being canonized in the Syriac, are not necessarily numbered as the same psalms when referring to the commonly accepted collective of Psalms 151-160). For the sake of simple clarity, continuing on in the Psalm 161 chronological general collective seems to be the only obvious step to move forward in, in an all-sincere attempt to rightfully divide, preserve, and freely share what is obviously Yahuah’s Inspired written Word.

Psalm 185

  1. Blessed are You, O Yahuah,
    Elohiym of mercy and abundant grace,
  2. For You have made these things known
    that I might declare Your wonderous deeds,
    keeping not silent by day nor by night.
  3. To You is all the power of an army Yours
  4. (For I have trusted in) the multitude of Your mercy,
    great goodness, and abundance of compassion.
  5. I shall delight in Your forgiveness,
    for I rest in Your truth
    from Your will and without […]
  6. Unless You rebuke there is no stumbling;
    unless You foreknow it there is no scourge
    —for nothing is done without Your will.
  7. And I, according to my knowledge in Your truth
    [I will chant about Your great loving kindness]
    as I contemplate Your glory, I will recount Your wonders;
    — understanding the mystery of Your wonder —
    I will lean on the multitude of Your mercies,
    and the hope in Your forgiveness.
  8. For You have formed the spirit of Your servant,
    establishing me according to Your will;
  9. You have not established my sustenance in unjust gain,
    nor for wealth I will not exchange Your truth in my heart;
    —for the creature of flesh you have not fashioned for me as a defense.
  10. The strength of the Mighty is established on the abundance of luxuries
    — on plenty of grain, new wine, and oil —
    for they exalt themselves in possessions and the rule of acquisition.
  11. But the righteous are like a green tree
    beside streams of water,
    bringing forth leaves multiplying its branches.
  12. You have chosen them from among the children of men
    that they may grow fat from among the land.
  13. For You will give to the children of Your truth
    insight, unceasing joy, and everlasting glory;
    and according to the measure of their knowledge,
    so shall they be honored one more than the other.
  14. And thus likewise to the son of Adam (maidservant)
    — according to Your will for a Man —
    You enlarged his inheritance through the knowledge of Your truth;
  15. And according to his knowledge
    he will be honored and brought into Your covenant.
  16. Yea, the soul of Your servant has loathed wealth and unjust gain,
    and has not desired the pompous luxuries of exquisite delights.
  17. My heart rejoices in Your covenant,
    and Your truth delights my soul.
  18. I shall blossom as a lily,
    my heart open to the everlasting spring;
    —for my support shall be in the might from on high.
  19. For You strengthened my soul so it can understand misfortune;
    but as the flower withers in the heat [wind/spirit],
    so my heart is mocked as if mad by terror and anguish,
    my loins trembling;
  20. My groaning goes down to the Abyss,
    and is shut up, seeking oneness in the chambers of Sheol.
  21. For I am greatly afraid
    when I hear of Your judgement of the Mighty Heroes,
    and of Your lawsuit of the host of the Holy Ones
    —for in righteous judgement it will be done.
  22. And Your judgement
    over all Your works (creatures), and righteousness […]
  23. [*Estimated 3 verses missing]
  24. [*Estimated 3 verses missing]
  25. […] in terror, disaster […]
    distress from my eyes and grief […] from my body […]
  26. […] through the meditation of my heart […]
